About FA Cup

The FA Cup is the oldest national football competition in the world, first played in 1871-72 and open to hundreds of clubs across the English football pyramid. League One and League Two sides enter in the first round proper in November, Premier League and Championship clubs join in the third round in January, and the final is staged at Wembley in May. Since 2024-25 ties from the first round proper onward are settled on the day with extra time and penalties, so a single performance decides who advances and giant-killings by lower-division sides are part of the tradition. Goalytics weighs the gap between divisions, squad rotation, home advantage and recent form to produce a transparent, confidence-scored AI prediction for every FA Cup match from the first round proper onward.
